Two banks in Indiana will be merging soon. Kosciusko Financial in Mentone will be merging with Michigan City-based Horizon Bancorp, according to Inside Indiana Business. The $22.5 million deal has gotten regulatory approval from the Office of the Comptroller of Currency and the Federal Reserve Board.
Kosciusko shareholders must still approve the merger and other closing conditions must be satisfied. Kosciusko Financial runs Farmers State Bank, but if the merger is completed on June 1st as planned, Farmers State Banks will become Horizon Banks.
