The Elkhart Police Department is launching an effort to get information to teens interested in a law enforcement career.
WNDU reports the Police Explorer Program will allow teens ages 14 to 19 to work with officers to learn about police procedures, laws, and training.
Some of the activities include ride-along with officers, helping with community events, and competing in national events.
An informational meeting held Wednesday evening at the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge marked the start of the program.
