Joyce A. Kreger, 86, of Pierceton, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, November 23, 2021 at Parkview Randallia Hospital, Fort Wayne, Indiana.

Born on July 22, 1935, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, Joyce was the daughter of Walter and Geraldine (Nuttle) Gross. She was united in marriage to Jerry Arlo Kreger on October 19, 1957, in Pierceton, Indiana who preceded her in passing May 25, 2019.

She worked as a nurse for Warsaw Community Elementary Schools, retiring in 1998. She was a member of the Pierceton Presbyterian Church where she held every church office and a choir member. Joyce was a 50-year member of Eastern Star # 88, where she served as a past Worthy Matron, Pierceton Citizen of the year 1981, a longtime member of the Pierceton Fireman’s Auxiliary and the Pierceton & Washington Township Library Board.

Joyce will be lovingly remembered by children: Jerry F. (fiancé Dawn Flynn) Kreger of Pierceton, Susan (Gregory) Peck of Leo, IN, daughter-in-law Laura Kreger-Moody of Cary, NC; grandchildren: Chase, Shelby, Marybeth, Kelsey, Holly, Jilliann, and Ryan; 12 great-grandchildren also survive. She was preceded in passing by husband Jerry A. Kreger, brother Jerry F. Gross, and son Rex D. Kreger.

A visitation is planned from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. with an Eastern Star Memorial Service at 7:00 p.m. on Monday November 29, 2021 at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw. A funeral service in celebration of her life will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday November 30, 2021 in the funeral chapel. Lew Collier will officiate the services. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery, Pierceton.

Masks are optional, and social distancing is encouraged. No food is permitted at this time.
