WARSAW — More than five years ago, INDOT hosted the first local meeting at Lincoln Elementary in Warsaw that looked at the idea of a new US 30.
Tonight, officials are inviting the public to attend what might be the most important and last chance to offer significant input as officials look at options in redesigning all of the biggest intersections with US 30 in Kosciusko County.
County commissioner Cary Groninger summed up the importance of the meeting Tuesday.
“This is a once-in-a-generation opportunity that we’re able to speak (about) U.S. 30 because this is a road that highly impacts our community, not only economically but just how we move about our county. This is a big deal,” Groninger said.
The meeting runs from 5 to 7 p.m. at Lincoln Elementary.
Many of the existing intersections will be closed off eventually as the state converts US 30 across northern Indiana into a limited-access highway.
Many of the biggest intersections will likely be converted to interchanges or overpasses.

A presentation is set to start at 5:30 and plenty of maps highlighting options for specific intersections will be on display.
Public input on the options will end Dec. 13 and officials hope to release the final plan early next year.
