Elkhart County’s R-V Industry is still on a roll. The Elkhart Truth reports another increase in shipments in February, compared to a year ago. So far in 2016, manufacturers have shipped more than 67-thousand units, which represents a nearly 11-and-a-half percent gain over the first two months of last year.
R-V industry leaders say tow-able RVs are leading the highest growth in units shipped, while motor-homes are leading the highest percentage growth. A side benefit is the number of local people being put to work. Numbers released Monday by the Indiana Department of Workforce Development show Elkhart County is tied for the fifth-lowest unemployment rate of the state’s 92 counties at 4-point-2 percent.
