The Spring Clean-up for Silver Lake residents will take place May 14.
At the Silver Lake Town Council meeting Wednesday night, the board advised that items should be set out the evening of the 13th. Pick-up will start early on the 14th.
The following items are prohibited and will not be removed: paints, oils, tires, large appliances, large furniture, televisions, computers, microwaves, lawn waste and anything containing freon. All items need to be accessible by the road. To schedule removal of large items, contact Staffords Solid Waste at 574-269-2492 before May 14.
The board approved a motion to continue using Stafford Solid Waste as the town’s trash pick-up provider.
In other news, the Silver Lake Volunteer Fire Department Hog Roast, Corn Hole Tournament and Auction Fundraiser will be May 14 at the fire department. The hog roast will run from 3 to 6 p.m. and cost $7 for a meal or $10 by the pound. Costs for children 12 and under is $5.
The corn hole tournament registration ends at 3 p.m. and the tournament begins at 3:15 p.m. The price is $30 per team.
