A South Bend man has died in a crash near Holland, Michigan. The victim, identified as 50 year-old Randall Spriggs, lost his life when police say his car smashed into the back of a semi. It happened in a construction zone on I-196 in Holland Township. Investigators say the driver of the rig was slowing as traffic was merging into one lane.
There are reports that police dispatchers took a call, describing the victim's car as weaving around in its lane and had crossed the fog line numerous times. It's believed Spriggs may have hit the back of the semi at a speed of 70 miles per hour.
