Horizon Bancorp’s acquisition of Kosciusko Financial, Inc. and Farmers State Bank of Mentone has been finalized today. Kosciusko was merged into Horizon and simultaneously Farmers State Bank into Horizon Bank under the name Horizon Bank.
As part of the transaction, Horizon Bank added five new branches. Farmers State President and CEO Greg Maxwell will assist with the transition through his retirement date of December 31 and is handing off local leadership to Lindy Breeden. Breeden has been named Market President for Kosciusko County.
The companies are finalizing integration plans that include a systems integration and sign changes, which should happen in the next three weeks. All Farmers State accounts will also transfer without any action needed from the account holder.
