Crews have been working to clean up a spill of indigo blue ink that discolored a southern Indiana creek. The spill was spotted Wednesday evening by a resident in the small creek in New Albany and environmental workers arrived Thursday to start trying to vacuum up the ink. Indiana Department of Environmental Management spokeswoman Amy Smith tells the News and Tribune that the ink didn't appear to pose a hazard to fish or people. WLKY-TV reports the ink was contained to about a 450-foot section of the creek. City officials say a nearby printing business was the likely source of the spill when a worker washed out a pan containing the ink near the creek.
