The Indiana Federation of Republican Women (IFRW) stopped through Warsaw Friday as part of the “Destination: White House” tour in their new red, white and blue RV, named Rosie.
The purpose of the tour is to encourage Republican women voters to register to vote, as well as rally communities and women’s clubs. The Indiana Chapter is affiliated with the National Federation of Republican Women (NFRW), who is sponsoring the tour. NFRW President Carrie Almond made the trip to Warsaw, as well as IFRW President Suzanne Heinzmann encouraging women to come sign the RV. Head of the Kosciusko County Republican Women’s Club Sue Ann Mitchell was there to greet them at the courthouse.
The tour kicked off it’s Indiana leg Friday morning in Hamilton County and made stops in Kokomo, Rochester, Warsaw and Kendallville. The Indiana Federation of Republican Women has over 700 members statewide.
The NFRW was founded in 1938 and has over 70,000 members nationwide, making it one of the largest women’s political organizations in the country. Their purpose is to promote the principles of the Republican Party, elect Republican candidates, inform the public through political education and increase the effectiveness of women in the cause of good government.
Indiana is the 22nd state Rosie has visited since the tour kicked off in May. They logged 10,000 miles when they pulled into Hamilton County Friday morning. Next, they will head to the Republican National Convention in Cleveland, Ohio from July 18-21, according to Suzanne Heinzmann.
