The second woman to serve as an Indiana Supreme Court justice will be the first woman to serve as chief justice. Loretta Rush will take over leadership of the court later this month from Brent Dickson. The seven-member Judicial Nominating Commission, interviewed Rush and others, then met behind closed doors for an hour yesterday before announcing Rush's selection. She says she plans on making sure that Hoosiers have confidence in the courts across Indiana. Rush is the newest member of the court. She was Tippecanoe County‘s juvenile court judge before Governor Mitch Daniels appointed her to the Supreme Court in 2012.
