A northwestern Indiana state senator plans to keep up the push to allow more land-based casinos despite Governor Pence repeating his opposition to such a move. Democratic Senator Earline Rogers of Gary is hopeful Pence will change his mind after seeing more details of how communities are being hurt by declining casino revenues in the face of greater competition from neighboring states.Pence said last week in Evansville he didn't want to change the law that keeps Indiana's Ohio River and Lake Michigan casinos on riverboats. Total state casino tax revenues fell nearly 15 percent during the last fiscal year. Rogers wants to see casinos treated like other businesses.
