Indiana will retain flexibility on how it can spend federal education money after it just received another waiver from certain No Child Left Behind rules. The future of the waiver was in doubt, when the U.S. Department of Education raised concern over whether the state was meeting the waivers conditions earlier this year. However, State Superintendent Glenda Ritz says the waiver was granted for the rest of this school year with no strings attached, but the FEDS still have some problems with the way Indiana evaluates teachers and principals.
