Amber Pasztor is in Elkhart County Jail on murder charges after her children were found dead in her car.
But before 7-year old Lillian Hernandez and 6-year-old Rene Pasztor lost their lives, their mother had active warrants out for her arrest.
She was wanted for violating a protective order as well as for not complying with a previous sentence. It stemmed from an August conviction for criminal trespassing, when she was ordered to a year in jail, 20 hours of community service, and had to pay court costs and fees.
A warrant was issued for her arrest on Sept. 12 for not complying with the terms of her sentence. She did not show up for court Monday morning. Her court appearance was scheduled for 8:30 a.m., which is about two hours after she abducted the children.
Pasztor was charged with underage consumption of alcohol in 2005. A year later, she earned charges of drunk driving and causing bodily injury, which is a felony.
She also faced two battery charges in 2009 and 2010. She had three separate charges of driving without ever receiving a license in 2011, 2014, and 2015.
