The widow of billionaire shopping mall magnate Melvin Simon has put their suburban Indianapolis estate and its private 18-hole golf course up sale with an asking price of $25 million. The 106-acre property in Carmel known as Asherwood was listed on Tuesday. The real estate listing describes the 50,000-square-foot main house with 36 rooms, including seven bedrooms and 24 full or partial baths. It also has a guest house and two swimming pools. Claire Belby of the Metropolitan Indianapolis Board of Realtors tells The Indianapolis Star that it is the area's most expensive residential property on the market in recent years. The Indianapolis Business Journal reports Melvin and Bren Simon had talked with the Indiana University Foundation about donating the estate before the Indiana Pacers co-owner's 2009 death.
