LEESBURG — A Warsaw Community High School senior that was arrested for sexual misconduct last week has had more charges filed against him after a sixth grade student came forward.
Nicholas Reed Colquitt, 18, of Leesburg, has been charged with four counts of child molesting, a level 3 felony, according to the affidavit of probable cause filed by the Kosciusko County Prosecutor’s Office.
On October 4, a Kosciusko County Sheriff’s officer spoke with the father of a victim under the age of fourteen years old that had sexual contact with Colquitt.
Another officer from the sheriff’s department spoke with the victim who said she met Colquitt at Tippecanoe Country Club where he worked as a lifeguard. Colquitt texted the girl about meeting.
When the school year began, the victim stayed home sick from school one day at the end of August. In the afternoon, Colquitt picked her up and drove her to his residence at 105 EMS T26B Lane, Leesburg. While there, Colquitt attempted to have sexual contact with the victim, but she said it hurt badly. He then attempted to have sex with the girl again, but she stopped the contact.
The victim further advised that approximately two weeks after the first incident in September, she snuck out of her residence during the night and met Colquitt at the end of her driveway. The two drove to a wooded area near Lake Tippecanoe where they got into the backseat of his car and had sexual contact.
About one week later, she snuck out again to meet Colquitt and they drove to the same wooded location and had sex. On September 28, Colquitt picked her up during the night and they again drove to the woods and engaged in sexual contact.
In early October, the victim recorded a conversation she had with Colquitt and provided the recording to police. On the recording police could hear the victim and Colquitt talking about having sexual contact and the contraceptive that were used.
Colquitt is currently being held in the Kosciusko County Jail from last week’s sexual misconduct charge. His bond amount has increased to $25,250.
