NAPPANEE (WNDU) — Mary Miller’s new prized possession is a cabin built near New Paris before the Civil War.
Owning a cabin has been Mary’s dream for as long as she can remember. She’s now moved it down a little closer to home in Nappanee and she plans to use it for all sorts of family gatherings and events, according to our partners at WNDU.
She said, “I’ve always wanted one probably from the time I was a child. We’ve been married probably 43 years and I’ve been saving things to furnish my cabin that I was going to get some day whether I was ever going to get one or not. Now I have enough things saved to furnish this one and probably another one.”
Measuring only 16 by 22 feet, this cabin once had eight people living in it.
And one of those eight people, Mr. Edsinger, is still alive and Mary says he’s welcome any time.
