It’s not something you’d ordinarily call police for, maybe in states like Colorado, but not in Indiana. However, a Michigan man did just that Tuesday evening.
A man staying at a hotel in Howe reported that someone walked out of his hotel room with his 3.5 gram marijuana stash, according to LaGrange County deputies.
Officers did search the “immediate area”, but did not find the drugs and made no arrests. The drugs had a value of approximately $30.
Medical marijuana is legal in Michigan. However, the press release from LaGrange County did identify the drug as an “illegal substance”.
Possession of marijuana less than 30 grams is a misdemeanor charge in Indiana with a maximum fine of $5,000 and possibility of up to one year in jail.
