Emergency personnel work to extricate the driver involved in Monday afternoon’s single-vehicle accident on Crystal Lake Road, just east of CR 600W.
A Mentone woman was taken to Kosciusko Community Hospital after driving her Jeep into a ditch south of Atwood. At about 3:42 p.m. Monday, Shelly Baker, CR 900W, Mentone, was westbound on West Crystal Lake Road when she lost control of her vehicle and ran in to a ditch, according to a incident report from the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department. She was taken to KCH with a head injury.
At the hospital, she told police she may have fallen asleep at the wheel, the report states. Damage was estimated at $5,000 to $10,000.
