There is another drop in Indiana’s unemployment rate. It's down another .10 of a percentage point, to 5.7 % in September. Last month marked the ninth consecutive month Indiana’s rate has been below the national average, which stands at 5-point-9 percent. Sectors showing the biggest gains in September include: Manufacturing and Private Educational & Health Service. Sectors showing declines in September include Leisure and Hospitality and Trade, Transportation & Utilities. The unemployment rate also dropped in all four of Indiana’s neighboring states. But only Ohio’s rate is below Indiana’s, falling to 5.6 % last month.
