Fun, interesting stories surrounding this year’s election

We know the election can be stressful getting your vote in, calculating the numbers and wondering who is going to control the country can have a major impact in your life. However, we have some memorable moments we can take away from this year’s election, too.

    Susan B. Anthony Grave Site

For example, the New York cemetery where women’s suffrage leader Susan B. Anthony is buried extended their hours Tuesday to give people more time to visit her grave. The Rochester mayor says visiting Anthony’s grave site has become an Election Day “rite of passage” for many people.

Visitors have been leaving “I Voted” stickers and other messages at her grave site.

This is a big deal because Susan B. Anthony died in Rochester in 1906, 14 years before women won the right to vote.

    Ballot Selfies

To take a selfie or to not take a selfie, that is the question. Some say they want to preserve the memory of voting in this election, but is it allowed?

Justin Timberlake recently learned that ballot selfies are not allowed in Tennessee. In fact, in about two dozen states it’s illegal to take a picture of your ballot inside the voting booth.

Across the country, the laws vary and can be confusing. According to this report, you ARE allowed to take a selfie in Indiana. You are NOT allowed to take a selfie in Michigan.

    Clinton and Trump Wraps
A chain of fast food cafes in Moscow are having some fun with the presidential election. They are offering a “Hillary-wrap” and “Trump-wrap” on their menu.

After doing some research, the chef carefully created each wrap. The “Trump-wrap” has some yellow sauce on top, a reference to Trump’s hair. The “Hillary-wrap” is spicier because the chef says Clinton is very eccentric.

    Each costs about four bucks.

    President Obama and Social Media

Wonder what is going to happen to all the social media accounts President Obama has been using while in office? Will they stay? Will they go? Turns out, it gets passed to the next president.

The accounts will keep the current followers but everything will be wiped clean, giving the new president a fresh start. Feeling like you may want to reminisce? The president’s archived tweets will be on the new twitter handle @POTUS44. Other archived social media posts will also have new “44” user names.
