An Elkhart man has been charged with murder after the body of a Goshen man was found in the Kingsbury Fish and Wildlife Area last week.
Scotty R. Irvin, 41, has been arrested and is in custody at the Elkhart County Jail, according to the Goshen Police Department and LaPorte County Sheriff’s Department.
41-year-old Mark Huber’s girlfriend told police last Tuesday that she had not heard from him and that it was unusual for him. His employer in Syracuse also said Huber failed to show up for work last week. He was found on Friday, dead of a single gunshot wound to the head and lying in a sewer line that was concealed by a manhole cover.
Huber was killed in Goshen and his body was transported to the Kingsbury Fish and Wildlife area in La Porte, according to an investigation by the La Porte County Sheriff’s Office,
Investigators say that Irvin was known to Huber and that the murder wasn’t a random act.
