Many of the Kosciusko County Sheriff Deputies returned to work today minus the weight of “November beards”.
Several of the 45 participating Kosciusko County Sheriff Deputies returned to the Justice Building last night to end their month-long “No Shave November” event.
Sheriff’s deputies, confinement officers, and reserve deputies had been allowed to grow beards during the month of November by Sheriff Aaron Rovenstine. Officers were asked to donate $20 to participate, which culminated with a check that was presented last night “Our Father’s House” director, Roz Morgan.
“Our Father’s House” is a thrift store located in Warsaw that specializes in assisting those in need and low income families. Sheriff Rovenstine presented Roz with over $1000 that had been collected by K.C.S.D. deputies in the 30 days. “The Rovenstine family was instrumental when we first established ‘Our Father’s House’, and continues to amaze me. Rovenstine and his deputies are a God-send, particularly at this time of the year”, stated Roz Morgan.
Local barbers, Bob and Nelson Conley, provided all officers with a free shave last evening that eventually resembled a “shearing of sheep”, according to Kosciusko County Deputy Sheriff Mike Fowler. Fowler, the idealist who organized the event, stated that officers are already discussing plans to continue the program next year
