Governor Mike Pence will hold a press conference today to discuss and clarify Indiana’s Religious Freedom Restoration Act. The event will be livestreamed at www.webinar.IN.gov/IN starting at 11am. The debate over the Religious Freedom Restoration Act brews into a second week, after Gov. Mike Pence signed the bill last Thursday. Quite a few Hoosiers and Americans fear RFRA will allow businesses to discriminate based on religious objections, particularly against the LGBT community. State House Minority Speaker Scott Pelath calls the Indiana RFRA “a national embarrassment.” Meanwhile, Democrats say they have authored language to repeal RFRA. The Religious Freedom law goes into effect July 1.
