A 61-year-old Warsaw man was arrested Tuesday on charges he molested a girl for more than five years beginning before she turned 14.
David E. Evans, of 1755 E. Boulder Drive, Warsaw, was charged with one count of child molesting, a Class A felony, and one count of child molesting, a Class C felony.
A probable cause affidavit from the Kosciusko County Prosecutor’s Office states that on Jan. 17, a Warsaw Police officer received information that Evans wanted to confess to child molesting that occurred several years ago.
On Jan. 18, the officer met with a young woman who advised she was a victim of sexual molestation and misconduct involving Evans throughout much of her life.
The girl told police that between the years of 1995 and 1999 and beginning at a point before she turned 14, Evans would have oral sex with her and inappropriately touch her. They also would take showers together and Evans would have her wash and touch him.
Evans admitted to police that he fondled and touched the victim’s private areas for sexual gratification before she was 14. The contact continued into her college years, according to the affidavit.
He said they began having sexual intercourse while she was in high school, the paperwork said.
His bond was set at $50,250.
