A Silver Lake woman was arrested Friday after police say she took drugs while pregnant.
Cheyenne Pauline Miller, 25, of 108 N. Poplar St., is charged with one count of neglect of a dependent causing serious bodily injury, a level 3 felony.
On Jan. 6, Miller went to the hospital with abdominal pains and found out she was pregnant.
According to a probable cause affidavit from the Kosciusko County Prosecutor’s Office, Miller allegedly told a friend she was going to kill her baby. She was then taken to Parkview Behavior Health for a 72-hour mental health detention.
On Feb. 19, Miller gave birth to the baby after carrying her for about six months, the affidavit states.
Miller and the baby tested positive for opiates and amphetamine.
Child Protective Services took custody of the infant.
On March 1, Miller appeared for a court hearing regarding custody of the child. The court took no action due to Miller appearing to be high on some type of drug, the affidavit states.
As of Monday morning, Miller was being held in the Kosciusko County Jail with a bond of $20,250.
