The Triton School Corporation is working on a plan for construction of a new auxiliary gymnasium for the junior/senior high school—but it might be more expensive than first thought.
Several public meetings have been held already to discuss plans and funding for the project, which at that time was estimated to cost $2-$2.5 million. A study on current construction costs and how that gymnasium would be used have pushed that cost up to as much as $4.2 million.
Another public meeting has been organized for April 25th and 7pm in the high school auditorium to discuss the need and the plans. The project’s architect and the school’s administrative staff will be on hand to make a presentation and answer questions.
