Kosciuscko County Deputy Josh Spangle has filed for the Republican Caucus set to elect the next Sheriff.
Spangle is a second-generation law enforcement officer and has served as Deputy Sheriff for 15 years in Kosciusko County.
A press release from the Spangle family says he was promoted to Sergeant in 2013, and later named the Director of the Kosciusko County Crime Stoppers program in 2015. Through the Crime Stoppers program, Spangle oversees tips received from the public, manages the program funds, and oversees the payouts for those tips.
Spangle has also acted as the the Monroe Township Trustee for the past five years and was elected to the Board of Directors, and later the Vice President of Multi Township EMS.
Spangle describes himself as community-oriented, and says he has the support of his family in seeking the Sheriff position.
“It is with their love and support that I take this important step forward. I am committed to moving our law enforcement community forward.”
Should he be elected Sheriff, Spangle has asked Tony Ciriello to act as his Chief Deputy.
The caucus to decide the next Sheriff will be held June 21.
