A fire near downtown Elkhart sent three to the hospital Thursday morning, including a baby.
The fire started at about 3:30 a.m. Thursday at a home on South Third Street. The fire took over an hour to put out, partly due to power lines being in the way.
Firefighters say a man escaped a second story window and caught the baby, according to WNDU. A woman then escaped from the window.
They three are being treated for smoke inhalation.
