It’s that time of year for severe weather season in the Hoosier State. National Weather Service Forecaster Sam Lashley says in the event of a tornado, don’t crack a window, because that does nothing. Another myth is stopping under bridges and underpasses. Those areas have stronger winds and you’ll be putting yourself in more danger. Instead, get out of your car if the tornado is right on top of you, get to a low spot, cover your head, and lie as flat as possible to the ground.
