New details have been released into a possible motive behind this past weekend's deadly shooting in South Bend. An argument between gambling buddies and claims of a robbery are spelled out in court documents. The suspect, Michael Taylor, turned himself into police after the shooting of Michael Gilliam, Saturday night, and said he was robbed by an acquaintence he gambles with hours before the shooting. Afterward, he retrieved a handgun, and headed to the building in the 200 block of Olive Street where the gambling was taking place. Inside, he got into a fight with another man. The gun accidentally discharged and Gilliam was struck. Taylor's girlfriend told police Taylor was going after the man who allegedly robbed him and said he told her she wouldn't see him anymore and the less she knew, the better… and, if she heard of anyone being shot, to leave her residence.
