A former Miss Indiana USA winner from Elkhart County is now Mrs. America 2018.
WNDU reports Mekayla Eppers of Bristol was named Miss Indiana USA 2014. She then went on to compete for Miss USA 2014, where she placed in the top 20.
During the Miss USA pageant, she was praised for having what many called a “normal” body.
Eppers has since launched a fitness program and gotten married. Her marriage qualified her to compete for the Mrs. America 2018 crown, which she received Saturday night.
