Formerly-convicted murderer Wayne Kubsch returned to a St. Joseph County courtroom Tuesday.
The Mishawaka man was convicted in 1998 of killing his wife, her ex-husband, and his 10-year-old stepson. However, an appeals court reversed his conviction earlier this year after it was determined jurors should have heard evidence challenging the prosecution’s version of events.
WSBT is reporting that the St. Joseph County Prosecutor’s Office, like before, is expected to pursue the death penalty for Kubsch. Kubsch will be back in court next week. He’s being housed at St. Joseph County Jail in the meantime on no bond.
