The Elkhart County Humane Society and Goshen Police are investigating an apaprent case of animal abuse. Crews were called to the 400 block of 8th Street where they found the animals at a home fending for themselves. In all, dogs, cats. birds and at least one lizard were taken from the home, which was described as smelly and filthy. Neighbors described some of the animals as looking malnourished. Authorities are caring for the animals right now. Now word on any arrests or charges filed, just yet.
