An Indiana school has ended a fundraiser that allowed students to use their personal electronic devices during lunch if they bought a $10 wristband. The middle school in Bloomington had offered students wristbands with the school's theme “Be the person” for $10 in exchange for smartphone or tablet privileges. The money collected paid for a field trip to Indianapolis. But… the Monroe County school superintendent squashed the fundraiser, out of concern it was teaching kids “that if you had the money and you were willing and able to spend it, you get certain privileges.”
