Kosciusko Community Hospital is beginning construction on a new Orthopedics & Sports Medicine Complex in Warsaw. The Complex will be located on U.S. 30 next to DePuy Synthes and will be called the Optimum Performance Sports facility.
A groundbreaking ceremony was held Wednesday.
Lutheran Health Network KCH CEO Kirk Ray says it makes sense the second OPS facility to serve the northern Indiana region would be in Warsaw.
“KCH is developing a coordinated and comprehensive orthopedic and sports medicine program to complement and support our school collaborations, patients and community needs. We believe this is another positive step toward enhancing orthopedic care in Warsaw, the Orthopedic Capital of the World,” he explains.
The 12,600 square-foot facility is expected to open in the spring of 2018 and will bring at least ten jobs to our area.
In addition to physical therapy treatment, the facility will include a regulation sized, 1/2 basketball court for 3 on 3 basketball and volleyball, a turf section, a weight room with strength training and functional movement equipment for sports performance training, and a rubber gym floor for specific sports training.
