Next week, armies of new recreational vehicles will converge near the corner of County Roads 6 and 17 for what’s become one of the nation’s biggest RV shows. But the show isn’t for shoppers. It’s for dealers. Elkhart Truth reporter Jeff Parrott says Forest River started the event in 2007 to say “thank you” to dealers, at a time when the industry was heading into a downturn. The industry is in a good place today, with shipments to dealers on track to hit 350,000 units by year’s end, more than double the units shipped in 2009.
