The North Webster Police Department, along with the Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department, are currently investigating a bank robbery that occurred this morning in North Webster.
At approximately 9:17 a.m., officers were notified of a robbery at the Key Bank located at Lance's New Market grocery store, North Webster. Officers from multiple agencies converged into the area, which included units from the Indiana State Police, Indiana Conservation Officers, North Webster, Winona Lake, and the Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department.
Bank officials have initially advised scene detectives that a male, Caucasian, approximately 6 feet tall, thin build, entered into the bank on foot, and demanded cash. He was also described as wearing a tan, full-length, cover-all, along with a dark colored, sweatshirt underneath with the hood pulled over his head. Officers also stated the suspect had on a dark colored ball cap, dark colored, sunglasses, along with a handkerchief covering his lower face. It also appeared that the suspect might have been wearing a potential mask of some type over his facial area.
The suspect fled the bank on foot with an undisclosed amount of currency, and a K-9 unit has been brought to the scene. No bank employees were injured during the robbery.
