An Elkhart-based bus maker plans to open a second manufacturing plant in Nappanee. Along with the plant, about 75 more jobs by 2016. Ameritrans Bus will invest more than two-million dollars to lease, renovate and equip a facility on Oakland Avenue in Nappanee. The Indiana Economic Development Corporation has offered the company up to $400,000 in tax credits and up to $45,000 in training grants, conditional on the jobs being created. The new facility will assemble double-deck buses for a U-K-based bus manufacturer. The buses will be used throughout the United States and Canada for sightseeing and community transit.
