The Kosciusko Community Hospital in Warsaw is receiving one of 60 trees being given out by NIPSCO this month.
The utility says they providing trees to several area community projects to provide energy conservation, environmental, and economic benefits.
The manager of vegetation management for NIPSCO says its the right time to plant.
“Cool temperatures and rain mean roots have time to establish in warm soil before the ground freezes. We’re glad to have a chance to provide these four organizations with trees that will improve their landscapes for many years,” John Stout explained.
Other planting sites receiving trees include the Lake County Soil and Water Conservation District Office in Crown Point, the Humane Indiana Animal Shelter in Munster, and the Schererville Parks and Recreation Department.
