Heavy travel for Thanksgiving begins Wednesday.
AAA says this week is projected to be the highest volume of travelers in the past five years. Over a million people are expected to travel in the Hoosier state, an increase of 3.4% from last year.
Gas prices are up, too. The state average has been hovering around $2.70 a gallon, which is up from $1.95 at this time last year, and approximately $2.43 a month ago.
AAA expects to rescue more than 330,000 motorists this Thanksgiving weekend. The motor club says primary reasons motorists need help are lockouts, flat tires, and battery problems.
