The Bowen Center has donated $10,000 for the East Market Street Trail project. This is the first major donation toward the K21 Health Foundation’s grant of $375,000. Bowen Center will be required to raise $125,000 to receive the funds. The project is part of the community’s effort to encourage healthy lifestyles by providing safe and convenient routes for recreation and active transportation. The Market Street Trial will strengthen connections between Winona Lake, downtown Warsaw, Market Street neighbors and three parks. It also will connect the Greenways with a cross town trail and become the center of the trail system, indirectly connecting every major trail and many more schools, parks and homes. The East Market Street project phase I includes major construction from Argonne Road to Bronson Street. The project will then be continued to downtown Warsaw by the city with the help of a state grant.
