The American Red Cross of Kosciusko County is encouraging school groups, youth groups, service clubs and anyone else who is interested to team up with the local chapter to distribute fire safety information to homes throughout Kosciusko County for Project S.A.F.E. on Saturday, October 18 from 10 a.m. until noon. Volunteers will receive a free sack lunch provided by Pro-Techs as well as a free t-shirt. The families of Kosciusko County are at greater risk from fire than any other disaster so the local Red Cross takes time each year to distribute fire safety information and a battery for smoke alarms. Homes without a smoke detector will be offered a free detector. The American Red Cross of Kosciusko County has assisted numerous families who have suffered the trauma of a home fire. To volunteer for this event, please call 574-377-1116.
