Indiana State Police are warning motorists to be alert for deer. The annual crop harvest and hunting and mating seasons usually mean more crashes. Police say you should use extra caution when driving in rural areas, especially just before dawn and just after dusk. They also say drivers should watch approaching vehicles and observe what may break their headlights beams; it could be a passing deer. Also, watch for reflections from the deer's eyes and know that if you see one deer, there could be others nearby.
