Winter is coming soon, and INDOT is finalizing its preparations. They have more than 84 thousand tons of road salt, more than 173 snow plow routes and 17 counties to coordinate. That's the task of keeping northeast Indiana's state roadways safe from snow and ice. It's a pretty big responsibility. Drivers should be ready for snow to develop, even as early as Halloween, and they should give snow plows plenty of space to work.
