Concord High School suspended an assistant coach for the girls' junior varsity soccer team after an investigation into a possible inappropriate relationship with a student. According to WNDU, the investigation started in August when a parent contacted the athletic department, claiming Emmy Gibson, an assistant coach, “encouraged and assisted” a student to violate their family-imposed curfew. Gibson did not teach at Concord Schools but was employed as a “lay” soccer coach. Concord Schools said it immediately removed her from coaching duties and submitted the results of their investigation to the proper authorities. Further investigations revealed Gibson may have had an inappropriate relationship with a student.
