Where there’s smoke, there may NOT be illegal activity: That was the warning issued for residents in the area. Several counties across Indiana have banned the burning of trash, tires, manure, waste, batteries, rubber and treated wood, including Kosciusko County. However, you ARE allowed to burn clean wood products, leaves and branches so long as nothing is burned after sunset and all fires are attended to. Some other counties, including St. Joseph county have made the act of leaf burning illegal and citations could be issued.
