For the first time ever, Girl Scout cookies will be sold online through a national platform called Digital Cookie. The organization had preferred that its scouts engage in door-to-door sales, as a learning experience for the young scouts. But they now say the internet will help girls learn 21st-century skills grounded in technology, along with face-to-face sales either door-to-door, or at the mall or shopping center. Online sales are expected to begin next week. Traditional cookie selling season begins in January.
