An Elkhart man was arrested this week in the case of a home invasion in Goshen. 35 year-old David James Simons is accused in the attempted burglary. Goshen police were called to the home in the 1800 block of Bashor Road just after 11 o'clock Wednesday morning. The homeowners chased the burglar, whom they say brandished a large knife in the incident, out of their home. He reportedly tried to escape in a running car that was parked on Elkhart Road and was apprehended after a brief struggle. Simons was booked on preliminary charges of burglary and intimidation.
