A June trial date is set for an Elkhart man accused of impersonating a police officer at a Goshen apartment complex last year. Rory Kerwood’s attorney has requested a two-day trial, stating there'd be a lot of witnesses. The 23 year-old man was arrested in September on four counts of impersonating a public servant and one count of theft.
In July, Kerwood allegedly went to apartments and identified himself as a police officer, while dressed as one. He faces up to 11 years if convicted. Another person charged in the incident, 24 year-old Devin Wilson of Elkhart, is scheduled for a hearing on March 16th.
